We
offer PVC and Nylon coatings for galvanized or stainless steel wire
rope. The standard colors for the coatings are black, clear and
white. Others colors are available upon request.
It
is required that the coating is stripped from the wire rope where
the fittings are applied in order to achieve the nominal breaking
strength of the wire rope.
POLY-VINYL-CHLORIDE
(PVC)
Is a very common type of plastic coating for wire rope. It is a
very cost effective, weather resistant and flexible. The operating
temperature range of the vinyl used as a coating on our wire rope
is between -30°F (-35°C) and + 180°F (=80°C). Our
PVC coatings are mostly (90) Durometer (Shore A) on the hardness
scale. This is very common in the industry, but can be modified
to meet special requirements where heat or abrasion may be a factor.
Please call us if you have a special application we can help to
fulfill.
NYLON:
A very abrasion resistant plastic formulated for use over pulleys
and offers exceptional service in extremely cold climates. Nylon
coatings are typically not as flexible as PVC. However, Aero Assemblies,
Inc., offers many varieties that are surprisingly as flexible as
PVC. Chemical resistance is considered good with a wide temperature
range of between -65° F (-54°C) to +230°F (+110°C).
