Manila is the
strongest natural fiber rope. It has great knotting ability but
low elasticity. Being a natural fiber, manila rope is susceptible
to water, chemicals & oils. It is best used in dry conditions.
Rope will mildew, rot and lose strength if exposed to moisture
and will deteriorate if exposed to chemicals. Unlike other ropes,
manila is resistant to heat. Short exposure to heated wires or
equipment will not melt the rope. Exposure to heat is not suggested
for long periods of time. It will burn if exposed to high temperatures.
